Produced after the fires that ravaged the Aude region of France in the summer of 2025, Carbonaude continues Hei’s investigation of landscapes shaped by catastrophe.
Echoing the Carbon Land(es) series, it merges beauty and melancholy through a highly graphic visual language.
By blurring distinctions between photography and painting, the works introduce ambiguity and sustained visual doubt.
