The Racers series marks the origin of Hei’s photographic practice. Produced between the late 1970s and 1980s, the works emerged from prolonged immersion in motorsport environments.

Moving beyond conventional reportage, the series captures peripheral moments and unconventional viewpoints.

Seen today, these images function both as historical documents and as autonomous photographic works.
